God gives us an invitation from guilt to grace. He tells us
“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”
Romans 8:9-10, 15-16 NKJV
Listen, the enemy will tell you your past makes you unfit. Stop believing that lie. Why? The cross was a complete payment not a half measure for our sins. Nothing needs to be added.
What is God doing? He is asking us to throw off the garment of shame, covering of guilt, and the identity of our past mistakes. Let Jesus dress you in the robe of his righteous and his garment of praise. Isa.61:3.
No amount of sin can hold you down when the breath of God is moving inside of you. There’s no greater power than God!
“Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.”
Revelation 21:5-7 NKJV
…he said to me write for these words are true and faithful, your mind, heart, purpose identity and future, let go of the old and embrace the new. Your identity is written by the blood of the lamb.
Folks in the words of Jackie, Jesus came as the lamb, the living sacrifice but when he returns, he is coming as the Lion of Judah! He is coming as the King of the Universe. To pick up his faithful!
Let us Pray,
Faithful Father, Our Sovereign Lord. Thank you for the sacrifice of the cross, where you bury our guilt and shame. Thank you. Lord you said pick up our cross’ and follow you, give us the strength to do so. Jesus, we need you. Help us as we go into the world, weak sharing the gospel, in need sharing our little, sick telling of the healer, oh God how great and magnificent you are. We cannot praise you enough. Meet us, where we need you most daily. Meet our friends and our enemies too. Lord save us from ourselves and help us keep looking upward not within. I pray that we not remain carnal but that we allow you to create the right spirit within us. Father thank you and we praise you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
