Just Stop

He went left with a heavy bag. I proceeded right. Honestly, I headed for a quick get away. Our paths crossed. Hoping for a high, hello and goodbye. BUT, did not happen!
Today was different, I had to be somewhere and knew he was still upset about something took place before. Nope! Rushing to get to my destination and of-course the Holy Spirit said STOP!. Dis not want to, but I stopped and listened.
Isn’t it just like God to stop you in your tracks! Rushing ahead with our plans, bound for destination number one and a complete stop! Seriously, Lord? “I got things to do, places to go, people to see…and you want me to stooop!” How many of us are like this? “Ain’t got time!” What if God treated us this way? Wouldn’t like it one bit!
There was a time when, I would have interrupted and said “I’m sorry in a rush, I have to go.” However, slowly learning to stop, breathe and listen. This time I really listened. Before being quick to answer I truly listened and asked Lord, what would you like to say to him? The only response I gave was explaining the importance of asking God for forgiveness, forgiving our own selves and the one we may have hurt.
Whether the apology is accepted or not forgive us. We have a father in Heaven who is always listening and willing to forgive anyone and everyone and he does so the first time we ask.
An important fact was stressed and it was explained sort of like a parable:
The apartment manager has a master key to our apartment.[God]. She knows there are things in the apartment that are broken and needs to be repaired. [Us] Despite her knowledge of the broken things, she will not force her way inside. She will stand at the door and knock or send a note needing permission, even while holding the master key. [OUR HEARTS]. She will not enter without permission even though she can. She needs permission, first! God is waiting for an invitation to come in and help repair our lives. He will not force himself in!
We discussed a lot. And it ended with him asking what church I attended. Understand when the Holy Spirit says stop, we must, go we proceed, not trying to get ahead nor lag behind.
The choice is ours. Are we available to be used by God? Do we want him to fix our broken pieces? He can if we invite him in or allow him to use us? We do not have to be perfect and all put together. I was reminded of this recently.
God is aware of all our circumstances and broken pieces that is why he allowed his only son’s blood to wipe us clean of our sins. He can fix us, if we allow him to.

Dear God, we are thankful for the sacrifice your only son made to save us. Lord we are imperfect vessels, empty and waiting to be filled by you. You know us best and we ask that you forgive us and occupy our body and soul. Cleanse us and make us whole and use us for your kingdom. Father, we too were lost and went astray. Therefore, whichever way you want us to help our brothers and sisters get to know you please lead us and show us how. Forgive us for not noticing before and thank you for making us aware. For this we thank you and appreciate you. Save us, Savior, Wonderful friend, counselor, mighty God and Prince of Peace. We Bless your Holy name. Thank you Jesus. Amen
