Emptiness

Have you ever heard someone say, “I feel so empty,” I feel like there’s no one to turn to!”?
In that moment, I wish I could reach inside and say I understand your sadness!
However, the emptiness that most people feel is a gaping hole that only our God our Creator can fill. We were made that way, to need him. Not as robots! Let us not get it twisted. We are given freewill! Definitely not robotic. The problem is when we feel too free and mess up.
Sometimes it is that we were never introduced to the savior. Therefore we toy with all other precepts and concepts. However, When we follow God’s manuscript (Bible) for our lives we are more fulfilled. When we are in relationship with him…The emptiness goes away. Not problems. The gaping hole is filled!
Let us think this through. When do you feel shame and regret? When do you feel alone? After committing a sin? Adam where are you? Hiding! Alone? Regret? Yes. He never felt shame until he sinned. If you don’t have a relationship with God? Equals emptiness.
Now, John 4.. the Samaritan woman, drawing water from the well at a time when others were not around. She bumped into Jesus, and he told her all about herself. He promised her living water. That lady ran around and told everybody! Shame? Nope! He fulfilled something inside her!
To sum this up, we were created with a gap and God is the only one that can fill it. We can try, alcohol, drugs, sex, friends, money, toys, work anything and everything but nothing can leave us more fulfilled than a relationship with our father.
God, is our loving father, our friend, comforter and much more than we can imagine. Because of his deep love for us “God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.”
John 3:17-19 NLT
Honestly, We were all created with that gap and we know it. This is why so many people even the ones who do not admit it say they feel like something is missing! The something is actually someone and one day I pray when we get tired of filling our lives with everything but! We will stop to acknowledge our need for our savior and turn to him before it is too late!
I cannot reach Christ for you and you cannot do it for me this is the way it is! Accept him or not, Jesus Christ will return after he has given us enough time to stop our running and say ok Lord, here I am naked, save me!
If you’re feeling empty, with no one to turn to, please try Jesus.
“You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.””
John 4:37-38 NLT
Folks let us get ready to tell others about Christ but first turn our empty cups over so He can fill them.
Let us pray,
Heavenly Father, thank you for accepting me as your child. For forgiveness of our sins, thank you. Father, with you we can live fulfilled lives. I pray we keep growing closer to you and humble ourselves. Help those who feel empty, depleted and afraid recognize you are standing at the door waiting for them to allow you to come in and sup with them. Dear God thank you for comforting those who are hurting from losing loved ones, jobs, or whatever is ailing them. I pray you walk through hospitals, nursing homes, homes, shelters, streets, to meet us where we are. Help us as we continue to place one foot in front of the other and trust you with the outcomes. Father, best of all thank you for being here, loving us and strengthening us. Help us tell others one at a time. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
