“Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:3-11 NLT
As I listened to a debate of Muslims vs Christians and another Christian vs Hebrew Israelite I inclined to listen very closely. It was very interesting as either side presented facts. One not believing the other’s point of view.
I concluded with if we are truly working to be more like Christ, then we ought to live like him. When we look within we find self when we look at Him we find Selflessness. Neither of the groups except what we find consistently that Christ made sacrifices for us. His children. He included all, forgave all and served all. Most importantly He preached, teached, reached loved, showed mercy and moved on.
If Christ can do that, and we follow his model we can do it too. Let us keep moving.
Let us pray,
Father in Heaven, thank you for your Loving kindness towards us. Father place the words in our mouth, with the meditation of our hearts be a representation of you. I pray we learn to study your words so we may be living testimonies to be used by you. Thank you for the braver opportunity you give us daily to encounter others. Thank you for our day to day and Father we bless and honor your holy name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
