We ask not therefore we have not…we use this in human terms but Pr. Debleaire enlightened us to this: ““Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7 NLT
Ask God, seek God always and you will discover he is omnipotent and omnipresent! He will provide.
Later on, we are told
“You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.”
James 4:2 NLT
God does not want us to be jealous of what others have. He said do not covet.
He is very much aware of our needs. Therefore, he invites us into conversation with him. Remember He is closer than a brother (siblings) and he will withhold nothing good from us. The invitation is to draw closer to him and build a closer relationship. Why? Because he loves us more than anyone else.
Simply put, we can ask anything of God, but do not ask him because you want what others have. Is it asking with the right spirit? No! Ask in genuineness and humility. God provides our needs but sometimes he blesses us with some wants, simply because he is generous.
Please as. He hears spoke and unspoken requests but first seek His kingdom and all else will be added. It will not be in our timing but His. He delays sometimes because he knows we may worship the blessings instead of the Blessor. Other times it is to protect us from ourselves and or others.
Basically seek God and his righteous and remember to be thankful for all things, great or small in all circumstances.
Almighty Father, thank you for caring so much about us by withholding some things from us until we are ready to receive them. We pray that we seek you first and grow into a deeper relationship with you so we can do your will not ours. Father, thank you for saying it is done. It gives us hope of a future. We thank you in advance for the financial breakthroughs we will receive in order to bless others and take care of our needs. Thank you for the healing you promised so we can boast about our weakness and your healing power so others may want to know you more. Lord, we praise you for always remaining with us no matter what. We know you deserve the highest praise and all the glory. Today we want to say thank you for blessing us keeping us healing us providing food and shelter for us and always walking with is. Our generous God we thank you and we praise your Holy name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
